A St. Louis man died following a one-vehicle accident on Friday evening (Aug. 27) at Hwy. 61-67 and Stoneridge Court in Barnhart, the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 6:05 p.m., when Schwarz, 48, of St. Louis was driving a 2012 GMC Acadia south on the highway, failed to navigate a curve to the left and the SUV ran off the right side of the road and struck a highway chevron sign and a tree, the report said.
Schwarz was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was pronounced dead at 6:58 p.m., according to the report.
He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The SUV was totaled, the report said.
