Brian E. Davidson, 35, of Pevely was hurt this morning (Nov. 26) in a three-vehicle accident on I-55 south of Imperial Main Street between Imperial and Barnhart, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:10 a.m., Davidson was driving a 2007 Kia Sedona north on the interstate and was unable to stop in time for slowing traffic ahead, and the minivan struck the rear of a northbound 2008 Jeep Liberty, the report said.
Then, Davidson swerved to the right, pulling into the path of a northbound 2018 Ford F150, according to the report.
Brian M. Hahn, 39, of Barnhart was driving the Jeep, and Benjamin E. Barren, 24, of St. Louis was driving the F150. No injuries were reported for them.
However, Davidson was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Davidson was not wearing a seat belt, and the other two drivers were wearing them, the patrol reported.
The Sedona was totaled, the Jeep had minor damage, and the F150 was moderately damaged, the report said.
