A Park Hills man died early Monday (June 7) when he was walking or standing along Hwy. 67 north of Hwy. 47 in St. Francois County and was struck by a van driven by a Festus man, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 1:20 a.m., the 23-year-old Festus man was driving a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan south on Hwy. 67 and struck the pedestrian – Kenneth L. Arnold, 42 – and then allegedly left the scene of the accident, the report said.
Arnold was pronounced dead at the scene, and no injuries were reported for the Festus man, who was arrested at about 3:30 a.m. in St. Francois County, according to the report.
The van was moderately damaged, the report said.
The Festus man will not be identified unless charges are filed in the case, and as of this afternoon (June 11), none had been filed.
