A Mineral Point woman was hurt Friday morning (March 10) in a three-vehicle accident on Hwy. 110 at Zufall Lane in the De Soto area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 11 a.m., Donald C. Koch was driving a westbound 2000 Mitsubishi Galant on Hwy. 110 and had stopped and was waiting to turn left onto Zufall Lane, when a 1989 Ford Ranger that came up behind the Galant didn’t stop in time and slid into the back of the car, which was then pushed into a third vehicle, a 2017 Ford F150, the report said.
Rose M. Weber, 16, of Hillsboro was driving the Ranger, and Robert B. Helms, 30, of Festus was driving the F150. No injuries were reported for any of the drivers.
However, a passenger in the Galant – Misty D. Heistand, 35, of Mineral Point – was moderately hurt and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The Galant was extensively damaged, the Ranger moderately damaged, and the F150 sustained minor damage, the report said.
