A 20-year-old Mineral Point man was arrested on Dec. 2 for allegedly driving while intoxicated after crashing on Hwy. 21 south of Amvets Drive in De Soto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 10:15 p.m., the man was driving south in a 2007 Dodge 2500 “too fast for conditions” when he traveled off the left side of the road and struck a ditch, the report said.

The man was taken by personal conveyance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

According to the report, the man was arrested for a DWI at 11:22 p.m. and held by Hillsboro Police until his release.

His name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of this afternoon, Dec. 4, none had been filed.

The man was not wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle was moderately damaged, the report said.
