Elaine A. Smith, 55, of Hillsboro was hurt Friday afternoon (Sept. 16) when she was thrown from the back of a motorcycle on Hwy. EE at Jones Creek Road in Dittmer, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 1:12 p.m. Timothy L. Smith, 57, of Hillsboro was riding a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle west on Hwy. EE, with Elaine Smith on the back, “traveling too fast for the road conditions,” and as he approached Jones Creek Road, he lost control of the bike, and the passenger was ejected, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Timothy L. Smith, but Elaine Smith sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Big River Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
Both the Smiths were wearing helmets, the patrol reported.
The bike sustained minor damage and was ridden from the scene, the report said.
