Frances P. Earl, 73, of Hillsboro was injured June 12 in a two-vehicle accident on Old Hwy. 21 south of Schenk Road between Otto and Hillsboro, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 4:53 p.m., a 16-year-old girl from Hillsboro was driving a 2017 Toyota RAV4 north on the Hwy. 21 exit ramp to Schenk Road and reportedly failed to yield as she crossed over Old Hwy. 21, and the front of a southbound 2019 Ford Escape driven by Earl struck the passenger side of the RAV4, the report said.

No injuries were reported for the teenager. However, Earl was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The Escape was totaled, and the RAV4 was extensively damaged, the report said.

The highway patrol did not release the teen's name because she is a juvenile.
