A Hillsboro man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident early Sunday morning (June 4) on Morse Mill Road west of Hillsboro.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the 29-year-old man was riding a 2008 Yahama 350 west in the 9100 block of Morse Mill Road at 3:20 a.m. when he failed to maintain his lane and rode into the eastbound land, overturned and went off the left side of the road.

The man sustained serious injuries and was taken by Big River Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where he was arrested by a patrol officer on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

He will not be named unless he is charged with a crime by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

He was listed in satisfactory condition on Sunday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The man was not wearing a safety helmet, the report said. The Yamaha had minor damage.
