A Hillsboro man and a Farmington man and woman were seriously hurt in a two-car accident Wednesday afternoon (June 1) on Hwy. 221 about one mile north of Buck Mountain Road in St. Francois County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 3:45 p.m., Dustin L. Robison, 21, of Hillsboro was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina north on Hwy. 221 and lost control of the car on the wet road before the car traveled into the path of a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, and the front of the Cobalt struck the passenger side of the Lumina, the report said.
Slade J. Nichols, 24, of Farmington was driving the Cobalt.
Robison and a passenger in the Lumina – Synthia L. Nelson, 18, of Farmington – were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where they were listed in satisfactory condition this afternoon (June 2), a hospital spokeswoman said.
Nichols was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where he, too, was listed in satisfactory condition this afternoon, a hospital spokesman said.
Robison was not wearing a seat belt, but Nelson and Nichols both were wearing one, the patrol reported.
Both cars were totaled, the report said.
