A High Ridge woman was hurt in a four-vehicle traffic accident Tuesday (Jan. 26) on I-70 in St. Charles.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Caitlin Dolezal, 26, of High Ridge was driving a 2019 Hyundai Accent east on I-70 west of Cave Springs Road at 11 a.m. when she hit the rear of a 2007 Ford Taurus driven by Steven Paffrath, 34, of St. Charles. The Taurus then spun and hit a towed unit of a 2014 Peterbilt 389 Conventional truck driven by William Protsman, 59, of Keokuk, Iowa, and a 2003 Ford Ranger driven by Christopher Wiggs, 36, of St. Ann, then hit the rear of the Hyundai. The Taurus ran off the right side of the road and into a fence, the report said.
Dolezal sustained minor injuries and she was taken by St. Charles County EMS to SSM Health St. Joseph in St. Charles, the report said. Paffrath was taken by the same agency to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, the report said.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
The report made no mention of injury to Wiggs or Protsman.
Dolezal and Protsman were wearing seat belts, the report said, but Paffrath and Wiggs were not. The Hyundai and the Taurus were totaled, the Ranger had minor damage and the Peterbilt truck was not damaged.
