traffic accident patrol patch

A 41-year-old High Ridge man was arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident and other alleged offenses following a head-on collision Monday night (May 20) on Antire Road at Sunshine Drive in High Ridge. Another 41-year-old High Ridge man was hurt in the two-vehicle wreck, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 10:27 p.m., the man who was arrested was driving a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 north on Antire Road when he allegedly crossed into the southbound lane, striking a southbound 2013 Honda Civic driven by Thomas W. Ragsdale, 41, of High Ridge, the report said.

No injures were reported for the man who allegedly left the scene and was later arrested.

However, Ragsdale was moderately injured and transported by the High Ridge Fire Protection District to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

The man who was arrested was not wearing a seat belt, and Ragsdale was wearing one, the patrol reported.

The S-10 and the Civic were both totaled, the report said.

The suspect was arrested at 3:01 a.m. Tuesday (May 21), and the patrol will seek charges for felony leaving the scene of an accident, misdemeanor resisting arrest by flight and misdemeanor second-degree assault, according to the report.
