A Fenton man was hurt Saturday afternoon (May 21) after his motorcycle was struck from behind by a car on Romaine Creek Road in the Springdale area between Arnold and Fenton.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Curt Wilhelm, 60, was riding a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 motorcycle east on Romaine Creek Road at Hwy. 141 at 1:30 p.m. when he was stopped in the right-turn lane. Bailey Crase, 18, of Arnold, was driving a 2014 Nissan Versa behind Wilhelm and failed to notice the stopped motorcycle, and the right front of the Nissan struck the rear of the motorcycle.

Crase was not injured, by Wilhelm sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, the report said.

Wilhelm was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

Wilhelm was wearing a helmet and Crase was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, the report said. Both vehicles had minor damage.
