A St. Jacob, Ill., woman was struck by a vehicle while she was trying to walk across Main Street in Festus last weekend, Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis said.

He said the incident occurred at about 7:20 p.m. March 11.

“A woman was crossing Main Street on foot when she was struck by a 2016 Nissan driven by Andrew Pachlhofer, 31, of Crystal City,” Lewis said. “(Pachlhofer) had stopped at the stop sign at Main Street and Mill Street and proceeded east on Main. He saw two people crossing the road. One jumped out of the way and the other was struck.”

Lewis said Pachlhofer and the person with the woman who was struck gave conflicting accounts of the incident.

The woman who was struck, Judith Holloway, 69, was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to an area hospital for treatments, he said.

Lewis said today, March 15, that he did not know the extent of the woman’s injuries or her condition.
