A De Soto woman and a St. Louis woman were hurt Thursday evening (Oct. 25) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 67 at Montauk Drive south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:40 p.m., Estella M. Presson, 89, of De Soto was driving an eastbound 2003 Buick LeSabre and white attempting to make a left turn, failed to yield to a northbound 2014 Ford Escape, and the front of the Escape struck the right side of the LeSabre. Then, the LeSabre ran off the right side of the road and struck a road sign, the report said.
Judith A. Royce, 57, of St. Louis was driving the Escape.
Both women were moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
The two were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
