A De Soto man and an Irondale woman were hurt Wednesday night (Aug. 5) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 67 south of Hwy. JJ south of Valles Mines, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 9:57 p.m., Briley A. Thompson, 20, of Irondale was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Captiva south on Hwy. 67, and the front right side of the SUV struck the rear left side of a southbound 2017 Jeep Wrangler, which then ran off the right side of the road, struck a rock bluff and overturned, the report said.

Michael C. Bagley, 61, of De Soto was driving the Jeep.

No injures were reported for Thompson.

However Bagley and a passenger in the Jeep – Coleen G. Bagley, 61, of Irondale – were both seriously hurt and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.

Thompson was not wearing a seat belt and both the Bagleys were wearing them, the patrol reported.

The Jeep was totaled, and the SUV had minor damage, the report said.
