A De Soto man and a Festus man were hurt Monday morning (Sept. 21) in a two-car accident at highways 104 and 21 in Washington County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Steven R. McMahan, 23, of De Soto was driving a 2011 Honda Accord east on Hwy. 104 and allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Hwy. 21, and struck the driver’s side of a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu headed north on Hwy. 21, the report said.
John M. Nowak, 35, of Festus was driving the Malibu.
McMahan had minor injuries, ad Nowak was moderately injured, and both were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
However, the hospital had no information about the men, a Mercy spokesman said today (Sept. 22).
McMahan was not wearing a seat belt, and Nowak was wearing one, the patrol reported.
Both cars were totaled, the report said.
