A woman and two children, all of Byrnes Mill, were injured Friday morning, Sept. 23, in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. M west of Old Lemay Ferry Road in the Antonia area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 11:51 a.m., Tessa M. Gerber, 25, of Byrnes Mill was driving a 2003 Honda Pilot east on the highway and the SUV started to run off the left side of the road and she overcorrected, but the vehicle ran off the left side and into the median, where it overturned, the report said.

She and two Byrnes Mill boys in the SUV – a 5-year-old and a 6-year-old – all were moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to area hospitals. Gerber was taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, and the boys were taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, according to the report.

Gerber was not wearing a seat belt, and the boys were using safety devices, the patrol reported.

The vehicle was totaled, the report said.

The highway patrol did not release the boys’ names because they are juveniles.
