Two Bonne Terre women were hurt, one of them seriously, in a one-vehicle accident Thursday evening (Oct. 15) on Hwy. E south of Sunrise School Road in the De Soto area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 5:45 p.m., Regina L. Griffin, 26, of Bonne Terre was driving a 1997 Ford F150 north on Hwy. E, and the pickup ran off the left side of the road before she overcorrected, which caused the pickup to overturn and eject her, the report said.
She was seriously hurt and taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was listed in serious condition this morning (Oct. 16), a hospital spokeswoman said.
A passenger in the pickup, Cindy R. Moore, 36, of Bonne Terre, sustained minor injuries and was taken by Valle Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Neither woman was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The pickup was extensively damaged, the report said.
