Jamie L. Gray, 30, of Arnold was injured Sunday evening (Dec. 12) when she was standing on Hwy. 61-67 at Country Haven Drive in Imperial and was struck by a car, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5:28 p.m., George A. Graham, 72, of Cape Coral, Fla., was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Passat south on the highway and reportedly was unaware that Gray was standing in the traffic lane removing debris from a three-vehicle accident that occurred just a couple of minutes earlier, and the car struck Gray, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Graham.
Gray, however, was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was listed in satisfactory condition this morning (Dec. 15), a hospital spokesman said.
Graham was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was moderately damaged, the report said.
In the previous three-vehicle accident, which happened at 5:26 p.m., Sandra S. Grimm, 61, of Festus was driving a westbound 2010 Pontiac G6 and while turning left from Country Haven Drive onto southbound Hwy. 61-67, she failed to observe two northbound vehicles, and despite the other drivers steering away to try to avoid a collision, the front of the Pontiac struck the front right side of a 2015 Ford Fusion, and the front left side of a 2010 Ford Escape struck the left rea side of the Pontiac, the report said.
James J. Fedke, 35, of Imperial was driving the Fusion, and Rhonda M. Dufrenne, 46, of Barnhart was driving the Escape.
No injuries were reported for Grimm or Fedke, but Dufrenne had minor injuries and was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South, where she was treated and released, the hospital spokesman said.
Grimm was not wearing a seat belt, and Fedke and Dufrenne was wearing them, the patrol reported.
The Pontiac and Fusion were moderately damaged, and the Escape had minor damage, the report said.
