We hiked over eight miles that day to crest Mount Baldy. In total, we hiked about 80 miles through the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico.”

Angie Sutton, 52, of De Soto sent a picture that took some effort to capture. “In early September 2025, we began a journey that we had done 21 years earlier in 2004 to Supai, Ariz.,” Angie said. “You can only get to this location by hiking, riding a horse or by taking a helicopter.” Supai is just outside of the Grand Canyon and home to the Havasupai Tribe. Angie said she hiked more than 45 miles during the trip and saw five waterfalls. “The first day, we hiked 10 miles through the hot canyon, and we set our eyes on our first fall—Havasu Falls. The water was cold and refreshing to our aching muscles. The water majestically rolled from the top and crashed 100 feet down at the bottom. Its beauty was beyond what we could have imagined. It took your breath away for a moment and showed the beauty that God has created if we seek to see it.”
