Mr. Alvin, a chinchilla, gets dressed up in costumes for a variety of special occasions, said owner Sue Coleman of De Soto.
“I dress him up for all holidays,” Coleman said.
Mr. Alvin, now 14, was not in great shape when Coleman got him, she said.
“We didn’t really know a lot about chinchillas when we got him,” she said. “I did research. He’s a rescue. He had bald spots.”
He got better and warmed up to the family, Coleman said.
“He’s gotten very friendly over time,” she said. “He lets us hold him. He’s our only chinchilla.”
