Maureen Brown of Hillsboro submitted this photo taken in January of Nakita at home relaxing. A miniature Australian shepherd, she will be 2 in October.
“She’s very energetic,” Brown said. “She’s a Frisbee freak. She catches it. She wants you to throw it. She also loves water – she kayaks with us.”
Nakita is friendly with other pets, but needs to get to know them first.
“We have three dogs and a cat,” Brown said. “She gets along with everybody. She’s kind of scared of strange dogs, but warms up to them. “
Nakita has a favorite in the house, however.
“She follows my husband around everywhere,” Brown said.
