Sarah Davis of Festus said her dog, Hazel, a 2-year-old toy Australian cattle dog and Jack Russell mix, likes swimming.
“Hazel likes the water,” Davis said.
She said Hazel mainly gets to swim at a pond in St. James on property Davis’ mother owns.
Hazel is an amiable, active pet, Davis added.
“She is very much a people dog,” Davis said. “She’s cuddly. She likes to run. Then she sleeps. That’s basically the extent of her life.”
Davis said Hazel has a brother, Oreo, but they don’t share the same interests.
“They’re from the same litter,” Davis said. “They’re exactly the opposite personality. He sleeps. He does not like water.”
