Rosie Johnston and Don Haverstick of Arnold say their rescue dog, Callie, obviously went through some tough times before they adopted her.
The photo of the 10-year-old Shih Tzu/poodle mix was taken in November 2016.
“She’s not real friendly, because she was mistreated,” Johnston said.
Haverstick said Callie needs to be handled somewhat carefully.
“We call her ‘growly bear,’ because if she’s on her bed and you try to touch her, she growls at you,” he said. “I can pick her up and rub her belly. She lets you pet her if she’s off of the bed.”
Callie has some distinguishing features, Haverstick said.
“She has a blue eye on the white side of her face and a brown eye on the dark side of her face,” he said.
