Dennis J. Wengert of Eureka submitted this photo of himself as a Marine Corps PFC, taken in 1968 in Dong Ha, South Vietnam, by a fellow Marine. The vehicle he is driving is a 1-ton personnel carrier, supplied by the Marine Corps Motor Transport. “The view was beautiful but the roads were rough,” he said. “Traveling the route from Dong Ha to Quang Tri was one of the most exciting driving experiences ever.”
