Six Flags planning modified Halloween event

The management at Six Flags St. Louis always has considered safety a top priority. This summer and fall, health issues are an ongoing concern as well.

The Eureka amusement park’s public relations manager, Elizabeth Gotway, said it currently is open only on weekends.

“We really had a pretty good summer, what was left of the summer anyway,” she said.

The park opened June 22 after St. Louis County health guidelines were in place, including face masks, touchless technology and temperature monitors.

Gotway said on Oct. 3 the park will open for Hallowfest, which is taking the place of Fright Fest this year.

“Fright Fest and Halloween is the most anticipated time in the park by far and people love it,” she said. “We just didn’t want to walk away from it completely. We wanted to provide a

really good Halloween experience for our guests. So we’re doing Hallowfest this year, with every intention of hosting Fright Fest next year.”

Gotway said the park will be open 2-10 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday for Hallowfest. She said reservations are required and can be made online.

She said Hallowfest will be held completely outdoors, and there will be no haunted houses and mazes.

Gotway said shows will take place on the palace porch and characters will walk around the park.

“It’s really been about keeping our guests and our employees safe through all the health and safety protocols,” she said.

She said news about Holiday in the Park will be released in the next week or two.
