The Owls advanced to the final four for the first time in school history after beating Westminster Christian Academy 7-3 in the Class 4 state quarterfinals at Festus High School on Oct. 25. Windsor beat De Soto, Festus and Hillsboro to win its first district championship in 23 years. Holland pitched three complete games in districts and in the quarterfinals went the distance, striking out 6, walking 1 and giving up 3 hits. A third baseman, Stemmler’s two-run home run in the third inning against the Wildcats gave Windsor a 2-1 lead. In the four playoff games, Stemmler had 8 hits and 9 RBIs.
