After winning Suburban West Conference, district and sectional golf championships in three consecutive weeks, Seckman sophomore Claire Solovic played in the Class 2 state championships on Monday and Tuesday at the Sedalia Country Club.
Solovic was the defending co-champion in Class 2, but she was three strokes behind the leader on the par 70 course after the first day. Solovic finished third in the state after she fired 70 on the second day for a two-day total of 144, three strokes behind state champion Megan Propeck of Notre Dame de Sion.
Northwest senior Lacey Snell had scores of 77 and 79 and finished 14th in Class 2. Snell finished her decorated career with state finishes of 10th last year, 20th as a sophomore and 44th her freshman year.
