Seckman High School students Alyssa Carlton and Sabrina Gretzmacher competed at the USA Track & Field Junior Olympics national championships July 22-28 at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro. Carlton was a medalist in the girls age 15-16 high jump, taking fourth place with a jump of five feet, five inches. She finished 21st in the long jump (16-3), 31st in the triple jump (34-00.75) and 33rd in the 100-meter hurdles (15.82). Gretzmacher came in 25th in the girls 15-16 heptathlon, scoring 2,998 points. Her highest event finish in the seven-event competition (200 dash, 800 run, 100 hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot put and javelin) was a seventh place in the javelin.
