Hillsboro senior Gaven Pinkley has made an oral commitment to play basketball at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. Pinkley was selected as the Jefferson County Activities Association large-schools player of the year the past two seasons after leading the Hawks in scoring and two straight Class 4 District 2 championships. Pinkley scored 2,019 career points, which is second in team history behind Mark Steighorst’s 2,272 points. Pinkley is No. 1 in school history with 1,063 career rebounds. The Mules compete in NCAA Division II and finished 20-10 in 2017-2018.
