Junior guard Izzy Farrell scored 15 points and senior forward Ashley Ellis added 12 as the Fox girls varsity overpowered Seckman 43-18 Tuesday night (Nov. 24) in the Fox C-6 Showcase basketball festival at Seckman.
The 15th annual event, featuring six games at three levels between the Fox School District rivals, was dominated by the Warriors, who handily won the first five games before the host Jaguars salvaged a win in the final contest of the night, 69-53 in the boys varsity matchup.
Fox won the first four games by scores of 42-14 (freshman girls), 41-28 (freshman boys), 35-17 (junior varsity girls) and 36-23 (junior varsity boys). In the boys varsity game, Seckman’s Brandon Hurley poured in 25 points, 19 in the first half, and the Jaguars pulled away by outscoring Fox 15-4 in the third quarter. Matt Kramer added 10 and Noah Barger eight for Seckman (1-1) while Travis Turnbough led the Warriors (0-1) with 15 points and Tony Pisoni tossed in 14.
Fox’s 5-1 tally for the night sewed up the fourth straight Showcase trophy for the Warriors, after Seckman had won for 11 consecutive years (2001-2011).
