The Tigers improved to 7-3 this season when they won the Bob Sechrest Jr. Christmas Tournament at Central High School in Park Hills for the first time with a 77-73 overtime victory over previously unbeaten Potosi (9-1) on New Year’s Eve. A 6-4 combo guard, Johnson led Festus with 30 points and seven 3-point baskets. His 3 in OT gave the Tigers a 70-66 lead and was the 200th of his career. Verbally committed to play at Jefferson College, Johnson also surpassed 1,000 career points in the game against the Trojans.
