Twice this season, the De Soto boys basketball team has used the same inbounds play to snatch a last-second victory.
The Dragons beat North County 45-43 on Nov. 26 and improved to 3-0 at the time. A pair of De Soto seniors made the quick inbound play work. Camren Krodinger fed Clayton Snudden for the game-winning basket against the Raiders.
On Friday at home against Festus in a Jefferson County Activities Association large-schools game, Krodinger and Snudden worked their magic again. Snudden missed the back end of two free throws with four seconds left in the game to tie the Tigers 54-54.
On the scramble for the rebound, the referees whistled the play dead on a jump ball. The Dragons had possession and from behind the end line, Krodinger scanned for Snudden, who broke loose and dropped in the game-winning shot at the buzzer in a 56-54 victory for De Soto.
