The Herculaneum girls basketball team enters 2018 with a record of 12-0 after beating Jefferson 80-59 on Friday afternoon in the championship of the Kingston Holiday Invitational.
The Blackcats have scored 80 or more points in each of their last three games and have captured three tournament titles this season.
The Hillsboro boys (10-0) are the only other undefeated basketball team in the county, but the Hawks have to survive the semifinals and perhaps championship of the 62nd annual Bob Sechrest Jr. Christmas Tournament this weekend if they are to arrive in 2018 with their unbeaten record intact.
