Allen finished seventh out of 26 athletes in the age-14 pentathlon competition at the AAU National Junior Olympics in late July in Des Moines. Her shot put toss of 31 feet placed second among the heptathletes and she performed in the top 10 in three of the other four events, recording personal bests in the 100 hurdles (16.72) and 800 (2:38).
