The 2019 Hillsboro graduate made an impact on the mound and at the plate last week for Festus Post 253’s American Legion baseball team. In wins against the Jefferson County Blazers (11-1), De Soto SMCI (14-5) and Eureka Post 177 (8-3), Brewer amassed four hits (two home runs), six RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases. On the mound, Brewer came into a 4-3 game against Eureka and earned the save after pitching two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Brewer was drafted in the 32nd round by the Texas Rangers this month and has a baseball scholarship at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
Michael Brewer
