The 2017 Hillsboro graduate has gone on a tear at the plate. In De Soto’s 12-5 win over Perryville on June 24, he reached base safely in six plate appearances, going five-for-five with three triples. That was on the heels of a four-hit performance against Ste. Genevieve the night before. As of June 25, Schmidt had 15 hits in his last 20 at-bats.
