The incoming Hillsboro senior led the offense for Festus during the American Legion Zone 4 tournament at the Ballwin Athletic Association. In four games, Patterson batted .529 with five runs batted in and six runs scored. He began the tournament July 19 with a 4-for-5 showing against Eureka Post 177, also scoring three runs. He capped Post 253’s three-run comeback against Jackson Post 158 with a walk-off single, vaulting Festus into the Zone 4 championship game against Ste. Genevieve Post 150 on Saturday. Patterson tied that game on an RBI double and scored on a throwing error in the sixth inning.
