Porter has qualified for the Class 3 state tournament in Columbia three times at 285, finishing fourth last season and second in 2018. He improved to 33-0 this season at 285 when he beat Sullivan senior Tristan Brown in a 3-2 sudden victory in the championship match of the Bob Georger Classic in De Soto on Saturday. It was Porter’s 150th career victory and fourth time he won the Georger title. Porter needs one more pin to reach 100 in his career.
