The senior is aiming at his third appearance in the Class 5 state track and field championships in May. Clark finished third in the state in the discus as a sophomore and seventh last season. His throw of 180-9 captured first place Friday at the De Soto Invitational and broke his personal record by 16 feet. Last season’s state winning discus throw in Class 5 was 173-10. Clark finished fourth in the shot put Friday with a heave of 45-7.5.
