Brenda Joyce Reando, 86, of Festus died Oct. 3, 2025, at her home. Mrs. Reando was a retired cafeteria worker for the Festus R-6 schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City. Born Sept. 9, 1939, in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Close) and Eli “Frank” Kennedy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years: William Reando.
She is survived by a son: Mark Alan (Lisa) Reando of Festus; two daughters: Lori Denise (Duane) Billington of Festus and Tracy Lynn (Aaron) Ford of Festus; a sister: Rometta Kennedy of Festus; four grandchildren: Matthew Reando, Sarah Reando, Kristen (Jacob) Conroy and Nicholas (Cheyanne) Siar; and a great-grandson: Lane Siar.
She also was preceded in death by three sisters: Ina Fleming, LuVella (the late Jesse) Oestricker and Donelda (the late Ralph) Cosgrove; and a brother: Francis “Sonny” (Phyllis survives of Festus) Kennedy.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, Oct. 6, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the funeral home, officiated by Bob Pierce. Interment will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
