Zachary S. Daugherty, 39, of De Soto died April 21, 2019. Mr. Daugherty was a mechanic at Speidel Automotive in De Soto and a volunteer for the De Soto Rural Fire Protection District. He was also a life member of Sons of Amvets Post 48. Born April 1, 1980, in Crystal City, he was the son of Dennis (Mary) Daugherty of De Soto and Terry McCally of Crystal City.
He also is survived by his wife: Jennifer “Jen” (Elder) Daugherty of De Soto; one son: Ethan Daugherty of Hettinger, N.D.; two stepchildren: Jacob Winford and Hailey Winford of De Soto, both of De Soto; two siblings: Denise Daugherty Dill and Andrea (Josh) Stahlberg, both of De Soto; one stepbrother: Ben (Haley) Difani of Bloomsdale; five nieces and nephews: Hannah, Hunter, Kaleb, Ruby and Will; and one grandmother: Norma McCally.
He was preceded in death by three grandparents: William McCally and Lawrence and Iola Daugherty.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the funeral home, officiated by Biff Mahn. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
