William “Bill” Voss, 79, of Cedar Hill died July 25, 2016, at St. Andrews at Francis Place in Eureka. Mr. Voss was a metal fabricator and former owner of Launer-Voss Spring and Body Co. in St. Louis. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, a member of Teamsters Local 618, a former member of the Concord Racquet Club Senior Swingers and a member of the Twilight Singers. He loved music and singing, tennis, fishing and his family.
Born Nov. 11, 1936, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late William and Margaret “Bernice” (Sullivan) Voss.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Mary (Gaffney) Voss of Cedar Hill; four daughters: Tracey (Joe Rapisardo) Bruce of Cedar Hill, Margaret (Jack) Ganey of Cedar Hill, Kathleen (Don) Kidwell of Arnold and Marianne Kauffmann of Dittmer; a son: William (Stacy) Voss of St. Louis County; 13 grandchildren: Robert (Pamela) Bruce of Arnold, Luke (Monica) Gronemeyer of Fenton, Jake (Ashley Hash) Gronemeyer of Cedar Hill, Daniel (Lauren Velasquez) Bruce of Chicago, Ill., Beth (James) Minner of Arnold, Sarah (Cody) King of Fenton, Josh (Stacie) Gronemeyer of Dittmer, Casey Kauffmann of St. Clair, Carolyn (Daniel) McKinley of St. Louis County, Anna (Will) Sturgeon of Cape Girardeau, Christopher Kidwell of Arnold, and William Voss and Helen Voss of St. Louis County; six great-grandchildren: Juliana, Rochelle, Charlotte and Alisen Bruce, Tyler Gronemeyer and Chelsea Minner; a sister: Marianne Burnes of St. Louis County; three brothers-in-law: Richard Gaffney of Shrewsbury, Phillip (Phyllis) Gaffney of Florissant and Daniel Gaffney of Titusville, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4696 Notre Dame Lane, in House Springs, officiated by the Rev. Dennis C. Schmidt. Burial is in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery on Byrnesville Road in House Springs. Memorials may be made to the Peace Pantry, P.O. Box 32, Cedar Hill, 63016. Arrangements were under the supervision of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
