William (Bill) Vaccaro, 77, of Crystal City died May 25, 2019, at the de Greeff Hospice House in St Louis County.
Mr. Vaccaro was a 1960 graduate of Crystal High School and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Before retiring he operated a forklift at St. Gobain Glass. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge 1721 in Crystal City and the Knights of Columbus. He played golf every Wednesday at Joachim Golf Course for 25 years and he enjoyed bowling, having been recorded in the Bowling Hall of Fame. He had committed himself as a devoted caregiver for several family members over the years. Born April 5, 1942, in Crystal City, he was the son of the late Genevieve (Gotto) and Joquimo “Jack” Vaccaro.
He is survived by eight nieces and nephews: Tina Smith, Jack Beasley, Carol Beasley, Lisa White, Scott Vaccaro, Dr. Paul Vaccaro Jr., Michael Vaccaro and Dr. Gina Vaccaro; two sisters: Theresa Pulliam of St. Louis and Elizabeth White of St. Louis; a sister-in-law: Peggy Vaccaro of Houma, La.; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul Vaccaro and Mark Vaccaro.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 10, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Dr., in Festus, with an Elks ceremony at 6:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus ceremony at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
