Welker Stephen Vaugh, 10, Festus

Welker Stephen Vaugh, 10, of Festus died June 18, 2023. Welker was a member of Jefferson County Jets Track Club, Festus Elementary Basketball, Twin City Cougars Football, and Faze Clan. He enjoyed playing video games with his dad and friends, playing sports, going to his grandparents’ house, and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved his dogs: Tilly and Remi. Born Feb. 26, 2013, in St. Louis, he was the son of Kristen (Mikesch) and Zachary Vaugh.

He is survived by his brother: Grey Vaugh of Festus; grandparents: Annette and Mike Ellenberger of Festus, Don and Denise Mikesch of Imperial, and Steve (the late Cindy) Vaugh of Festus; great-grandparents: Patricia and Allen Welker of Festus; four uncles: Chris (Shawna) Vaugh of Hillsboro, Adam (Kaila) Mikesch of Festus, Joey (Alex) Mikesch of Festus, and Jacob Ellenberger of Festus; an aunt: Melissa (Tyler) Dawidowski of St. Louis; 12 cousins: Kaleen, Malachi, Heaven, Victor, Arianna, Kyler, Kaden, Jaxson, Adalynn, Lucas, Landon, Cooper, and Eleanor; and godparent: Stephanie McComack.

He was preceded in death by godparent: Adam Easter.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 22, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Msgr. Greg Mikesch. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Celebration of life will follow from 1-5 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, at the Festus/Crystal City Elks Lodge, #4 Elks Acres, in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
