Wayne Paul Ahrens, 48, of Jefferson County died April 27, 2021, in Imperial. Mr. Ahrens worked as a concrete laborer. He was of the Lutheran faith. Born March 31, 1973, in St. Louis, he was the son of Wayne Ahrens and the late Sharon Mack Merklin.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 25 years: Renee Fitzgerald Ahrens of Imperial; wo children: Brendan Ahrens and Kaitlin Ahrens; and two siblings: Lisa (Tony) Datillo of Festus and Daniel (Elizabeth) Merklin of Festus.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at the funeral home chapel. Burial is in the Shepard Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
