Wanda Lee Jennewein, 90, of Hillsboro died Dec. 4, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Jennewein was a member of Sandy Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Born Sept. 6, 1929, in Wappapello, she was the daughter of the late Flora (Griffith) Allison and Roscoe White.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Leroy Jennewein.
She is survived by a daughter: Carolyn (Garry) Caldwell of Hillsboro; three sisters: Virginia Sample of Affton, Joann Million of Williamsville and Verna Green of Silva; five grandchildren: Darryl (Debbie) Caldwell, Regina (James) Abrams, Gayla (Dennis) McHawes, Steve (Nancy) Buchanan and Jason (Melissa) Dowd; 10 great-grandchildren: Drew, McKenzie and Sammie Dowd, Dexter Buchanan, Zachary and Hanna Caldwell, Carter and Tucker Abrams and Madison and Marli McHawes; seven stepchildren: Leroy Jennewein, Kenny (Janice) Jennewein, Mike (Susie) Jennewein, Ed Jennewein, Joe Jennewein, Barbara Kurschiniski and Susan Nunnery; a brother-in-law: J.B. Mays of Poplar Bluff; and numerous family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Sharon Dowd; two sisters: Betty (the late Buck) McCollum and Mary Helen Mays; a brother: Roy (the late Bonzie) White; two brothers-in-law: Kenny Million and Richard Green; and a stepson-in-law: Gary Kurschiniski.
Funeral services were held Dec. 7 at Vinyard Hillcrest Funeral Home in Pevely, officiated by the Rev. Jason Sparks. Burial was in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Hillsboro. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Homes.
