Wanda Lee Ford, 86, Festus

Wanda Lee Ford, 86, of Festus died April 20, 2016, at Scenic Nursing and Rehab Center in Herculaneum.

Mrs. Ford worked as a manager for 36 years with the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co./AT&T and was a member of Pioneers of Communication and Radiant Life Church. She enjoyed reading, singing and going to church. Born Feb. 27, 1930, in Wappapello, she was the daughter of the late Lawdon Thomas and Beulah (Pool) Adams.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Ford Jr., who died Dec. 20, 2009.

She is survived by a son: Robert (Renee) Ford II of Arnold; a daughter: Debi (Roger) Hurst of Festus; a sister: Ellen Naomi (Joe) Lavigne of Hillsboro; five grandchildren: Eric (Brandy) Hurst; Ryan (Nichole) Hurst, Chris (Kelly) Buenniger, Nick Buenniger and Bobby Ford III; four great-grandchildren: Ashleigh Hurst, Rian-Skai Hurst, Xander Hurst and Colton Hurst; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Barbara Buenniger; a brother: Denzil Adams; and two sisters: Bernice Sarage and Geraldine Hoxsworth.

A private memorial service will be held. Her body was donated to the Washington University School of Medicine. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9374 Olive Blvd. Suite 101, St. Louis 63132. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
