Eureka Police are investigating the theft of two rings from a room at St. Andrew’s at Francis Place. The rings were stolen when a woman was visiting a friend at the facility, police reported.

A 67-year-old Fenton woman called police at about 3 p.m. March 11 after she discovered the rings were gone. The two rings are worth an estimated total of $4,000, the report said.

One of the rings was white gold wedding ring with three connecting bands that is worth about $500, and the other ring was gold with a large diamond that is worth about $3,500, according to the report.

The woman told police that she took off her rings to put lotion on her hands, and when she went to put them back on, the rings were gone. She said numerous people came in and out of the room, the report said.

St. Andrew’s at Francis Place employees told the woman they would start an internal investigation, according to the report.

As of Monday, neither ring had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Brett Grittini said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
