Wanda J. (Halbert) Woods, 72, of Crystal City died Aug. 12, 2018, in St. Louis County. Mrs. Woods was a longtime employee of the Hillsboro R-3 School District. She loved to travel and was a passionate reader and an avid flower gardener. First in her heart were her beloved “grandbabies.” She was born March 12, 1946, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Carl and Mandy (Setzer) Halbert.
She is survived by her husband: Timothy G. Woods of Crystal City; three sons: Christopher (Laura) Woods of Hillsboro, Chad (Shannon) Woods of Hillsboro and Seth (Jayne) Woods of Columbia; 10 grandchildren: Sydney, Luke, Gavin, Abby, Ethan, Jillian, Brynn, Tessa, Sadie and Blake; and three brothers: Ellis Halbert of Florissant, Dwight (Vicki) Halbert of Jefferson City and Doug (Karen) Halbert of Festus.
A celebration of life is scheduled from 6-10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Villa Antonio Winery, 3660 Linhorst Road, in Hillsboro. Memorials may eb made to the ACLU, to Planned Parenthood or to the Missouri Botanical Garden. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
